چکیده

It has been established that of all types aberrations following the implantation intraocular lenses, most significant is spherical, inherent in spherical optics various aspects. This paper proposes a method for reducing longitudinal aberration lenses by applying an additional optical layer onto their surface. To reduce aberration, thickness polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon) was simulated programming environment Zemax 13 (USA). Calculations were performed included refractive indices and material optics. order to value lens made hydrophobic acrylic, aTeflon should be about 100 nm. The results spraying indicate improvement characteristics aberration. When examining different areas with spraying, it there no area. In 4 mm zone, indicator decreased times compared original lens. region diameter 6 mm, 0.2. Applying Teflon reduced Fresnel reflection times, which improves sensitivity contrast vision. properties provide anti-adhesive state lens, counteraction development secondary cataracts. SolidWorks 19 software (France) used design model "NVision Optics" whose eliminated as much possible

Spherical Aberration of Intraocular Lenses

Advancements in cataract surgery and intraocular lens (IOL) design have optimized the postoperative optical performance of the pseudophakic eye. One of the recent spotlights of IOL design has been formulating optical properties similar to a clear, young lens and addressing spherical aberration. Spherical aberration in the human eye is a combination of the positive spherical aberration of the co...

Adaptive optics simulation of intraocular lenses with modified spherical aberration.

PURPOSE Adaptive optics systems can be used to investigate the potential visual benefit associated with correcting ocular wave-front aberration. In this study, adaptive optics techniques were used to evaluate the potential advantages and disadvantages associated with intraocular lenses (IOLs) with modified spherical aberration profiles. METHODS An adaptive optics vision simulator was construc...

In vitro strehl ratios with spherical, aberration-free, average, and customized spherical aberration-correcting intraocular lenses.

PURPOSE To determine in vitro image qualities of artificial eyes achieved with spherical, aberration-free, average spherical aberration-correcting, and customized spherical aberration-correcting IOLs in centered, decentered, and tilted positions. METHODS The in vitro performance of these IOL models was determined by optical bench measurements. The experimental setup included a laser light sou...

The Aspheric Cornea, Spherical Aberration, and Intraocular Lenses: Considerations for Surgical Management

The cornea is the main refractive surface of the eye. The prolate shape of the cornea plays a role in maintaining the optimum total spherical aberration (SA) of the eye by neutralizing the negative SA of the lens. As we age the lenticular SA shifts in the positive direction while the corneal SA remains the same, making the total ocular SA more positive. SA of the eye is directly proportional to...

Effect of Spherical Aberration on the Optical Quality after Implantation of Two Different Aspherical Intraocular Lenses

PURPOSE To compare the effect of spherical aberration on optical quality in eyes with two different aspherical intraocular lenses. METHODS 120 eyes of 60 patients underwent phacoemulsification. In patients' eyes, an aberration-free IOL (Aspira-aA; Human Optics) or an aberration-correcting aspherical IOL (Tecnis ZCB00; Abott Medical Optics) was randomly implanted. After surgery, contrast sensi...
